Turkey, which makes all four seasons live to its fullest with its unique beauties, continues to offer views from heaven in every region and to make you feel the smell of history in every period. In this article, I will give you information about the places to visit in the Marmara Region of Turkey.

  • Selimiye Mosque: It is a historical mosque located in Edirne and built by Mimar Sinan. The dome of the mosque, which can be easily seen from many parts of Edirne, is 31.30 meters in diameter.
  • Maşukiye: It is a natural landscape located in Kocaeli Kartepe. With the view of Aygır Creek and Sapanca Lake in this peaceful region, Kuzu Plateau makes one think that I have fallen into heaven.
  • Historical Peninsula: It is the place surrounded by the city walls, namely the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus and the Sea of ​​Marmara in Istanbul. This region is known as the oldest settlement and with historical artifacts. Many churches, mosques, obelisks and palaces from the Byzantine and Ottoman periods are located here. If you have been to Istanbul, Sirkeci Station, New Mosque, Spice Bazaar, Cağaloğlu Hamam, Sultanahmet Square, Eminönü Square, Blue Mosque, Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum, Serpent Column, German Fountain, Hagia Sophia, Istanbul Archaeological Museum, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar I highly recommend you to visit and see.
  • Prince Islands: It is the general name given to 9 islands in Istanbul. You can easily go to these islands by ferry and the names of these islands are as follows; Büyükada, Heybeliada, Burgazada, Kınalıada, Sedefadası, Tavşanadası, Sivriada, Kaşıkadası and Yassıada.
  • Maiden’s Tower: The legend of the Maiden’s Tower, located in Istanbul Üsküdar, is said to have been built by a king in ancient times to protect his daughter, upon hearing the prophecy that her daughter would be killed by a snake. Although the king closed the tower to protect his daughter, it is said that the snake that came out of the grape basket that came to the tower killed the girl. You can go to this tower by boats that leave from Salacak every 15 minutes.
  • Uludağ: It is one of the leading places of winter and ski tourism in Bursa. This mountain, which is 2,543 meters high, is as cool as a highland in the summer and becomes a frequent destination for those who want to escape from the summer heat.
  • Cumalıkızık Village: Located in the Yıldırım district of Bursa, this village is one of the regions where the Ottomans first settled in Bursa. In the village of Cumalıkızık, there are houses with the Ottoman Period residential architecture. It is a historical village covered with Ottoman houses. The breakfast of this village is famous and there are many breakfast rooms, I recommend you to try it.
  • Uluabat Lake: It is a tectonic lake located in Bursa. This is how the people who fish widely in this lake meet their livelihood. Gölyazı Village, the most famous village around this lake, was the capital of the Apollon Kingdom. While you are ready for this lake, I recommend you to taste the beautiful fish and take a boat trip.
  • Lake Iznik: Located in the Iznik district of Bursa, this lake is known as a freshwater lake. It is a lake with a perfect view that reveals all the beauty of nature in front of you. There are various breakfast places, tourist facilities and camping areas here. You can also go to the tile workshops in Iznik to learn the art of tile and get the necessary training.
  • Ulu Mosque: Located in Bursa and built with the instruction of Yıldırım Beyazıd, this mosque is known as the first of the multi-domed structures in Ottoman architecture and the largest mosque in our country, as it has 20 domes. Yavuz Sultan Selim changed the cover of the Kaaba with the cover sent from Istanbul and gave the old cover to the mosque.
